The new Active Age Committee met for our first meeting of the year in early February. The following people were nominated and agreed to take on specific roles, and we thank them for their willing help. Chair - Jennifer Maxwell; Vice Chair - Carolyn Smith; Secretary – Mary Farrell; Treasurer – Teresa Barrett; Programme Organiser – Philippa Coady; and these are backed up by… Asst. Sec. – Carmel Carey; Asst.Treas. – Marese Murphy; Asst. Prog. Org. – Alain Rochecouste. We have been busy adding in some extra classes ‘live’ on Zoom for Singing and Music, Tai Chi and Pilates as well as our usual Sit & Get Fit and Yoga. For those reading who are not members, you can access two sets of classes - nine Sit & Get Fit classes and nine Yoga classes - by going to youtube.com and typing Active Age for All into the search line. While the Sit & Get Fit classes are designed for over 55s – they are just great on a wet day for anyone! Magda from Soul Lighthouse is our tutor and she will keep you both busy and calm – if that does not sound too much like an oxymoron! Join her and you will understand that we are saying! You will just need to wear some loose/comfortable clothing, have a chair to hand obviously for Sit & Get Fit, a long belt (perhaps from a dressing gown or bathrobe) and two small water bottles or two soup tins to use as dumbbells. Nothing else is required other than connecting. Don’t forget to click on ‘Subscribe’ if you visit. Thanks. Croquet - While we do not want to wish our lives away, we can hardly wait until Spring and the return of Croquet in Newbridge. Of course, this will all depend on the ‘Level’ we are at by that time. It would be fair to say that those who play are keen to get going. And again, not wanting to wish our loves away… it would be lovely if we had a repeat of the weather from last Spring too!
