Development has begun on Lusk Action Group’s proposal for a multi-use youth services facility, widely called for by the community. Foroige do fantastic work in Lusk working with various groups of young people and have continued to engage via online platforms throughout the last year. They also facilitate the youth club which has not been active in the last year due to Covid. A permanent youth facility will be a huge advantage to them as they continue to expand and improve their services. It will be available for use by any organised and supervised groups of young people and we will be proposing the inclusion of a youth café, all of which will bring positive focus to our young people.Further facility for youth will be arriving within the next year with Fingal County Council’s planned building of a skate park in Rogerstown Park. This plan also includes the building of a large adventure playground. Next month we will have our first AGM via Zoom on Monday 1st March. All are welcome to attend. If you are interested, please get in touch with us at our email address on luskactiongroup@gmail.com and we will forward you the meeting details. If you have general areas of concern that you would like us to address, let us know. For your information, the land at the back of the sports and recreational hub will not be handed over by the developers to the county council until spring 2022. This is to give the pitch time to settle in. The recreational park will be fully completed when it is handed over. A very positive piece of news is Lusk Community Council’s acquiring of funding to undertake a broad study of Lusk and create Lusk Vision 2030. This will be carried out by independent consultants. We are very pleased to have a voice within this and we encourage you all to make your opinions known. This is a great opportunity for our community and we envision much more positive and well planned development as we move through the next decade.
