Donabate Portrane Men’s Shed continues to be limited to tending our allotment, the perfect small-group, socially-distanced, outdoor activity for these pandemic times. Our second-hand, 25-year-old garden shed has been reassembled and lovingly restored with a coat of eye-catching Moroccan Red paint. The last of the season’s crop, cabbages and beetroots, have been harvested. Preparations have been made for the winter; the beds have been manured and covered. We now intend experimenting with growing garlic, onions and possibly other plants in the greenhouse over the winter months.
