Leithinis receive grant from FCC for instruments

In mid-September, Leithinis CCÉ was absolutely delighted to receive a grant from Fingal County Council, under their Community Activities Funding scheme, to buy instruments, including banjos and flutes, for our “Instrument Bank”. We also bought instruments with the money raised at the SuperValu bag pack and raffle, held in Donabate Mall in March, just before Covid-19 lockdown, where we had our “Tradathon”! These more expensive instruments will be available for rent to people wishing to join our classes. Leithinis wishes to sincerely thank Fingal County Council for this grant, which will enable us to offer traditional music classes to a wider range of people, and for an additional grand, under their 2020 COVID-19 Emergency Fund, for sanitising equipment. We especially wish to thank all our local councillors and Pat Lane, the Community Officer for FCC, for their help and support. Classes have started back on Mondays and, if you have missed out, please contact us at leithinis@comhaltas.net. Please check out our website at leithinis.com for current information.Leithinis will hold its AGM on Wednesday 21st October at 8pm by Zoom and all members will be sent Zoom invitations to this meeting. Please, please do not be shy; send an email if you are interested in traditional Irish music classes.
