We hope that the community is enjoying freedom again, with the lifting of Covid restrictions. We are very lucky, here in Lusk, to have have a very active Foroige. Together with them, we are in the early stages of creating a proposal for a permanent Foroige building. This would be used for youth clubs, youth development groups and youth cafe, so needed and wanted in our community. We have also recently pulled together volunteers from the community who will assist with the youth club. You can expect to hear more from them about how they will be starting back. We have been requesting more Dublin Bus shelters. This may be a long process, but we will continue to communicate the community’s agenda. We have recently been made aware that, as part of the Rogerstown Estuary Park development, there will be a skate park and adventure playground. We continue to look at options for a multi use hard play area, closer to the town, for sports such as basketball or football. We will be submitting a proposal over the coming weeks.Although we have requested fencing in the sports and recreational hub, along the bank of the stream, Fingal Co Co feel, after assessment, that itis not required. It is our intention to submit a proposal for a library in the autumn. This is widely sought in our community, and we will do our best to try and deliver that.Rubbish is a continuing issue in the sports and recreational hub. This is mostly bottles and cans. It is being picked up daily by one of our own members, which we don’t believe is acceptable. Currently, we are in communication with Fingal County Council in relation to installing more bins, which is proving difficult at the moment, but we will continue to request these until we have success.Remember all the fantastic local businesses that kept us afloat during lockdown. Continue to support local! Enjoy the rest of the summer and stay safe.
