As we approach year end, Balbriggan Meals on Wheels would like to thank, most sincerely, all those who supported the service throughout a very difficult year in 2020. Huge thanks go to all the volunteers and staff who enabled Meals on Wheels to continue providing meals despite the challenges of Covid 19. Thank you to the local Balbriggan community, local businesses, community organisations who have continued to support the organisation throughout 2020.Recently, Balbriggan Meals on Wheels held a competition for members of the local community to design a new logo. The winner was Liam Daly and you can look out for the new Balbriggan Meals on Wheels logo!In the run up to Christmas Balbriggan Meals on Wheels is seeking donations for the annual Food Drive in order to prepare hampers of food and essential items for distribution within the wider Balbriggan community. All donations of non perishable foods and essential hygiene items can be brought to 14 Hampton Street from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 1pm. You may also choose to assist Balbriggan Meals on Wheels by making a monetary donation directly on their Facebook page. If anyone last year had told us that we’d all be wearing facemasks, who would have believed it! But given the year that’s in it, Balbriggan Meals on Wheels is selling some lovely festive facemasks which you may purchase from 14 Hampton Street, priced at €4 each. (again Mon – Sat 9am to 1pm). Thank you to Alice Crowe, Angela Bissett, Catriona White, Julie O’Brien and Pauleen Dunne who made these masks and donated them to Balbriggan Meals on Wheels to help with fundraising.Balbriggan Meals on Wheels is looking forward to continuing to provide meals for those in need in our community throughout 2021. We would like to wish all our service users and supporters all the very best wishes for Christmas and hopefully 2021 will be an easier year. Stay safe everyone!
