The Bleeding Pig Cultural Festival was last held in 2019. Covid restrictions meant that it could not be held in 2020 or 2021. BUT we are delighted to say that we are working on Festival 2022. The Festival will be launched in The Brook, Portrane on Thursday 8th. September and finish on Sunday 18th September.Festival favourites are back on the programme.The Dublin String Quartet is performing in our Gala Concert and they will be supported by The Blanchardstown Brass Band, Skerries Strummers and David Scott.Films for the 3 Day Short Film Festival are being sourced by Emma Fagan from Fillum.We have workshops for adults and for children, tours of Portrane Martello Tower, St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland and Newbridge House, Biodiversity Walk and Talk led by Hans Visser, biodiversity officer with Fingal Co. Co. Family events - “Go Fly Your Kite” and walking treasure hunt. Health and Well Being workshops in The Community Well and Tai Chi on Portrane Green.These are just SOME of the events.We will be back with a more comprehensive list next month.We have 2 fundraising events during the summer – A Quiz and a Raffle and we ask you to support these. Most of the events in the Festival are free and even though we have generous sponsors, we haven’t had any fundraising opportunities for 3 years. September is Festival time again on the Peninsula!
